Special Event Access

In order to gain access to NAS Pensacola (NASP) for an event, all non-Department of Defense (DoD) personnel 18 years of age or older must be escorted by a DoD ID card holder (within same vehicle), or have a background check conducted on them at the Visitor Control Center to ensure there are no disqualifying factors.

Permanently disqualifying factors are being identified in the foreign fugitive file, immigration violator file, known or suspected terrorist file, and any felony convictions for rape, child molestation, trafficking in humans, espionage, sabotage, treason or terrorism.  Other than these, any felony conviction within the past ten years is grounds for denying installation access.

A background check may be accomplished for all adults in attendance by filling out the SECNAV 5512 form (attached) and sending it to your event sponsor, who will in turn ensure it is received by NASP Security for vetting.  This is the most efficient process as it allows security personnel to have already conducted your background check before your arrival.

You may also pre-enroll via Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) by following the link below.  Once you have completely enrolled, either print or “screen capture” the QR code provided at the end of enrollment.  Security personnel will need the QR code and/or number associated with the QR code to process you at the visitor’s center.  Although the SECNAV 5512 form will still be required, this will save processing time for you upon your arrival.

Lastly, you can report to the visitor center at NASP and fill out the SECNAV 5512 form and be processed on site.

In all cases (other than escorting) personnel will need to report to the visitor center for their event pass.  You do not have to wait for the day of the event and are encouraged to come early to obtain your pass to save delays the day of the event.  However, the pass will not be valid until the day of the event.

You must have valid, government issued identification (state issued driver’s license, passport, SS card, etc.). Acceptable documents are listed in the instructions portion of the SECNAV form 5512.
