Learn About Our Kiwanis Club Chapter

There's no better feeling than truly helping your community. After witnessing the work of other local groups, we were inspired to help Wreaths Across America honor veterans. We do this by placing wreaths — paid for by our generous sponsors — on the graves of veterans in the Barrancas Cemetery here in Pensacola, Florida. Every year, we organize the distribution of over 23,000 wreaths with the help of volunteers, including youth groups.

About Us

Our goal is not only to honor the brave men and women who have fought for our country but also to teach young people about the sacrifices veterans have made throughout history. The Barrancas Cemetery is the resting place for a variety of troops, including 251 African-American soldiers who fought for the Union during the Civil War.

Our Cause

In addition to our work with Wreaths Across America, we provide a variety of opportunities for young people in our community. This includes sponsoring middle school students for in-state, four-year college scholarships. For the past 18 years, we have helped students achieve their dream of attending college without worrying about tuition costs.

We pride ourselves on helping children further their education. Along with our scholarship program, we also distribute 2,000 to 3,000 books to elementary schools each year and have provided a $2,000 educational stipend to a therapeutic girls' school. Additional projects include sponsoring high school key clubs, Relay for Life, and our youth-focused K-Kids and Builders Clubs.
